Authorised Training Center of Factory Automation Laboratory in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd.

MoU by SVVV, Indore and Mitsubishi Electric India Private Limited (MEI)

Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya Indore signed an MoU with Mitsubishi Electric India for the development of a Factory Automation Lab at the University Campus and the MoU signing ceremony was conducted in online mode on 28th Oct, 2021. In continuation with this collaboration Mitsubishi Electric India upgraded the Lab with advanced Robotic Set up and other kits to establish its first Authorised Training Center (ATC) of Factory Automation Lab in central India.

The inaugural function of the Authorised Training Center of the Factory Automation Lab was conducted on 19th July 2022 at SVVV campus. On this occasion Shri Purushottam dasji Pasari, Hon’ble Chancellor SVVV, Dr. Upinder Dhar Hon’ble Vice Chancellor SVVV, Shri Kamal Narayanji Buradiya, Honorary Secretary SVVV, Dr. Namit Gupta, Dean- Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Mr. Vikram Mattoo, General Manager, Mitsubishi Electric India, Mr. Manoj Gupta, AGM MEI, Mr. Rajendra Singh, AGM, MEI, Indore region were present, along with all other officers of MEI and Directors/HOD/HOIs of SVVV and other faculty members were present.

Under this MoU Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya has become an “Authorised Training Center “of Mitsubishi Electric India. The aim of this is to develop a factory automation training center in the university under which different training programs will be conducted for engineering students, faculty members and industry professionals. Such training programs will be helpful to gain the technical understandings of Mitsubishi products which are used in various industries across the country.

In the first phase of this collaboration, Factory Automation Lab was established based on high-end automation equipment with all accessories including high-end software for simulation/programming of the equipment to Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya. The training equipment includes the Mitsubishi Electric iQ-R PLC based FA training-kit comprising HMI, VFD, Servo Amplifier, however the PLC and SCADA software platforms also provided.

Under the second phase of the collaboration the Authorised Training Center was established and an advanced Robotic setup (Industrial Robots) along with LVS kits were provided to the existing FA Lab for the enhancement of the laboratory resources. Technically the Robotic setup (MELFA RV 4FRL) is configured as an Industrial Robot RV-4FR-D with 6-axis degree of freedom and supports distinct applications of industrial automation. With the establishment of this ATC, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya Indore will cater the need of automation industries situated in the nearby region and at the same time engineering students as well as faculty members will get the opportunity to learn the advanced technologies of factory automation with hands on exposure.
