Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya organized a National Conclave on 'Journalism in the Age of New Media'

A special media conclave was organized on March 24 by the Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication of Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. The topic of the conclave was 'Journalism in the Age of New Media'. The Program started at 10 am with Sarawati Vandana followed by the floral welcome of the delegates.

Dr. Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor delivered the welcome address. Dr. Mamta Ojha, Convener has brief about the conclave. Mr. Arvind Tiwar, Chairman Press Club of Indore, address the audience with his experience and vision as a reporter. Prof. M.S Parmar, Vice Chancellor, Kushabhau Thackery University of Journalism, Raipur was the Chief Guest in the inauguration of the Conclave. He said that the first requirement for the report is to understand the culture of India. He also emphasized on the quality of education in Journalism.

Senior Journalist and News 18 Deputy Managing Editor Sumit Awasthi was the Chief Speaker of the program. He told that about the use of social media with responsibility, he also focused the use of social media for national building. Along with them, senior journalist Shravan Garg, Prakash Hindustani, Jaideep Karnik -editor of the first Hindi web portal Webdunia, and Nai Dunia Group Editor Anand Pandey were also present in the program. In the valedictory session Shri Purushottamdas Pasari, Chancellor, SVVV, address the audience and expressed the powerful use of media.

Mr. Ved Pratap Vaidik, senior journalist, columnist and expert of international affairs, highlighted the untold aspects of this topic in the concluding session of the program. He said that social media is like air ballon and the first principal of journalism is the credibility and faithfulness. He also emphasized the maintaining the identification of each and every citizen. At last Shri Kamalnarayan Bhuradia, Secretary, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Trust, has put up the vote of thanks.

Conclave Coordinator Dr. Mamta Ojha informed that more than 300 students from journalism universities and colleges across the country participated in this Conclave.
